ProSSH Mac does not collect, sell, or share your data. No analytics. No tracking. No telemetry. The app is open source — you can verify this yourself.

Where Your Data Lives

  • Hosts, groups, and key metadata are stored locally on your Mac.
  • Private SSH keys and saved passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain.
  • Trusted host keys live in a local known_hosts file, just like OpenSSH.
  • Downloaded files go to local storage. You own them.

Network Connections

ProSSH Mac connects directly to the servers you specify. We don't proxy, inspect, or log your traffic. There is no server on our end.

Open Source

ProSSH Mac is MIT licensed and fully open source. You can audit the code at github.com/khpbvo/ProSSHMac.

Security

  • KeyForge for SSH key generation and management.
  • Built-in certificate authority for signing keys.
  • Biometric authentication (Touch ID) for saved credentials.
